About

what exactly is a yurt?

Yurts, also known as gers, are a circular structures that have been used by nomadic tribes in central Asia for thousands of years. Even today, yurts are lived in for many months at a time, and are deconstructed & transported when it is time to move.

The structure of a yurt is made of timber, sinew and ropes. It is then covered with a cotton lining, thick felt and canvas. Yurts are well insulated and are designed to withstand extreme weather, including high wind and storms.

Yurt Hideaway features a genuine Mongolian Yurt, handmade with traditional materials and imported direct from Mongolia. The hardwood floor, furnishings, mod cons & landscaping, transform this amazing structure into a luxurious retreat.
